The WWE roster of female talent lost one of its greatest performers on Friday when April Brooks, who goes by the ring name AJ Lee, decided to part ways with the company. WWE confirmed the news on Twitter using her maiden name. (Last summer, Brooks married former WWE wrestler turned UFC fighter Phil “CM Punk” Brooks, who left WWE last year amid allegations of medical negligence.)

The announcement comes less than a week after WrestleMania, where she performed in the show’s only all-female match with Paige and the Bella Twins. Brooks, who began her pro wrestling career in 2009 and held the so-called “Divas” belt three times, has not commented publicly on her departure, but pro wrestling fans were quick to lament her leaving.
