There’s a dress with a thigh slit and then there’s a dress with a slit so high you’re practically not wearing a skirt anymore. Zoe Kravitz unfortunately got the latter from her stylist for last night’s MET Gala 2014, which was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
In fact, Zoe’s dress had such a risky slit that she actually revealed more of her nether regions than she probably bargained for – so much that people at home could tell she wasn’t wearing undies.
Had this happened on any other red carpet, it would have probably not been that tragic, though still bad; as it is, this occurred on the red carpet leading to the biggest fashion event of the year, the night when celebrities and fashion people come together to honor and celebrate the fashion industry.
Pulling a Paris Hilton (as this move has come to be known because of the singer / socialite and a string of carpet appearances in the past and countless paparazzi shots) at the MET Gala is unheard of. Yet Zoe did it.
You can’t tell from the photo above because it’s been cropped for the reason mentioned above (i.e. the fact that you could see she didn’t have undies on), but Zoe’s custom made Topshop gown, in a gorgeous burgundy color, came with a dangerously high slit.
In other photos on the red carpet, she didn’t have a problem keeping her modesty covered, as photos over at Just Jared can confirm. However, when it came to going up the stairs and the position of the photographers on an inferior level, this allowed them a camera angle that put Zoe on the spot.
Other than that, her dress was gorgeous. She paired it with a clutch by Giambattista Valli, Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, and jewelry signed by H. Stern and Anita Ko. Zoe rocked a blonde bob and heavy eye makeup, and struck her trademark sultry poses for the cameras.
In case you were wondering, yes, Zoe is the daughter of famous (and very handsome) singer Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet. Her acting credits also feature some notable appearances, including on the hit series “Californication” with David Duchovny and, on the big screen, in “X-Men: First Class,” the rebooted X-Men, and “Divergent.”
However, Zoe’s body of work consists of modeling gigs. She’s also made headlines in recent years for her love life, dating “Gossip Girl” star Penn Badgley and, after they split, her “X-Men” co-star Michael Fassbender.
[Update]: Photos released after this article went live indicate that, from a different angle, you could see Zoe was actually wearing undies. Thanks go to our reader with the very original nickname who pointed this out.
