Starring Rafael Amaya, the sixth season premiere of Telemundo’s Emmy Award-winning Super Series™ “El Señor de los Cielos” (Lord of the Skies), positioned Telemundo as the #1 Spanish-language network in 8-11pm prime among all key demos, according to Nielsen. The premiere episode delivered more adults 18-49 and 18-34 viewers than all other Spanish-language broadcast networks combined at 10pm, outperforming them by +13% among adults 18-49 (1,235,000 vs. 1,091,000) and +26% among adults 18-34 (531,000 vs. 423,000). At 10pm, “El Señor de los Cielos” was the most-watched program in Spanish-language prime, outperforming Univision’s “Por Amar Sin Ley” at 10pm by +72% among total viewers (2,147,000 vs. 1,246,000), +121% among adults 18-49 (1,235,000 vs. 559,000) and +119% among adults 18-34 (531,000 vs. 243,000). Fueled by last night’s premiere, Telemundo was the #1 broadcast network at 10pm, regardless of language, among adults 18-34, and outperformed CBS and ABC at 10pm, among adults 18-49.

Locally, Telemundo was #1 at 10pm, regardless of language, among adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Orlando.

On the social front, the premiere of “El Señor de los Cielos” was the #2 most social drama series across all broadcast networks, regardless of language. The premiere episode was the #1 most socially engaged primetime show across all Spanish-language networks by a huge margin, with over 11x more interactions for the Super Series™ versus other Hispanic programs in prime last night.

The chase begins and this time they want “Aurelio Casillas” alive or dead in a new season of Telemundo’s highly-rated “El Señor de los Cielos.” With more than 300 crew members, shot in Mexico and Istanbul, Turkey, and a star-studded cast, this season is the most ambitious ever for the Super Series™. Although “Aurelio Casillas” (Rafael Amaya) has shown his skills as an extraordinary hunter, in this new season he understands that in order to avoid becoming a victim of his victims, he must become a fugitive, especially from the fearsome Colombian capo “El Cabo” (Robinson Díaz) who comes for revenge at any cost, for the death of his son.

“El Señor de Los Cielos” is a Telemundo Global Studios original production, recorded in Mexico by Argos Television, written by Luis Zelkowicz and directed by Carlos Villegas, Miguel Varoni, and Moisés Urquidez, under the executive production of Mariana Iskandarani.
