The Compton native used his platform to shine light on his beloved Los Angeles community, especially highlighting those affected by the recent devastating wildfires. “We’re going to dedicate this one to the city,” he proclaimed, showing amor for everything from Compton to Long Beach.
Stellar Performances Light Up the Stage
The performances, mi gente, were simply spectacular! Charli XCX brought the house down with her high-energy set that had everyone dancing, while The Weeknd made a surprise comeback that left the audience speechless. Chappell Roan, our Best New Artist winner, delivered a show-stopping rendition of “Pink Pony Club” that proved exactly why she deserved her victory. Even the firefighters got their moment to shine, receiving a standing ovation as they presented the final award of the night.

Beyond the glitz and glamour, this year’s ceremony showed real corazón, focusing attention on the Los Angeles wildfire crisis. Host Trevor Noah announced that viewers had pledged $7 million for relief efforts, while local firefighters received a touching tribute.
